Chapter One
The Easiest Way to Get Rich
The black Van drove through the night silently, like a hawk searching for its prey. Two men sat in the front, one by the name of Ace Sloan. Ace looked like any of your run-of-the-mill thugs. Body the size of a gorilla, tattoos covering all of his arms, and a face that could have curdled milk. The other passenger went by the name of snake. That’s what the local papers began to call him, after every one of his robberies left no trail. It was as if he quietly slithered away from the scene of the crime. He was small, but could have dealt with anyone twice his size. Snake even had a couple of punches with ace shaking him up.
Ace made a swift turn, taking them almost to their destination. The local museum was having an exhibit this week with the Veneta Diamond, worth nearly 4 million dollars. This could go a long way on the black market. Ace and Snake had no doubts about whether they would get caught or not. They were criminal masterminds, this was their job.
Ace pulled into the back of the building, each of them ready to pounce. They unloaded all their gear, which would make this theft a whole lot easier. With Ski masks on, they walked casually to the back door. “Lock Pick,” Ace said as Snake handed it to him. With a flick of the wrist the door swung open.
While Snake tried to take a step in, Ace quickly stopped him. Ace raised his gun and shot the security camera to his far right. “You asleep or something snake?” Ace asked. Snake said nothing and went on. They got their blueprints out, and got to work.
